Julia Onnie-Hay is an aspiring herbalist and Holistic Health Counselor certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She graduated with honors from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition affiliated with Teachers College of Columbia University and holds a B.A. in cultural anthropology from New College of Florida. She has studied Amazonian healing arts in an apprenticeship with the curandero Don Juan Tangoa Paima at the Wind Spirit Center for Healing in Iquitos, Peru and permaculture design with CSOUL in northern California.
 
Julia’s work supporting women in making positive, sustainable and holistic changes in diet and lifestyle is rooted in her passion for cultivating healthy community in Sarasota, Florida. She works with several non-profit organizations, serving as the Project Assistant with the Grassroots Leadership Initiative, Membership Outreach Specialist with the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, Inc., and as a Market Manager at Jessica’s Organic Farm. Passionate about making local, organic, nutritious and delicious food available to all members of the Sarasota community, she is the founder of the Potluck in the Park and offers her counseling services, programs, workshops and retreats on a sliding scale.
